Lumberjack, Part 2

The Lumberjack socks I’m making for my brother are coming along quite nicely but I don’t think I’ll be finishing them for this weekend like I had hoped. I lost a big chunk of knitting time because I had to undo the heel.

Here’s the heel flap as I had originally knit it. I started to think that there wasn’t enough grey relative to the white portions so I ripped it out and added about 1.5″ more of the grey tweed.

You can see the original starting point of the heel here, where the stitch marker is. I think I made the right call, don’t you?

By the way, does anyone else think that ribbed socks look really odd when not being worn? The ankles look so weird and skinny and then *bam* you get this gigantic foot! Oh well, they’ll look fine once they’re actually on a foot.
