It’s been a while since I’ve updated you on my Weasley Homestead socks – so long that I’ve actually finished them!

The Weasley Homestead, Pt. 1
The other day I noticed that I don’t really have any mindless TV knitting. Actually that’s a lie – I do have my Golden Girls afghan, but it’s too hot to have a a giant pile of wool in my lap right now. So you can see that I needed a new project on the needles.
I’ve had this pretty Lana Grossa Meilenweit Aloha in my stash for a while now and it was just begging for a chance to be socks. I used Erica Lueder’s Weasley Homestead pattern, and before you knew it I had several inches of a sock! It’s a great mindless knit and I’m looking forward to seeing the completed socks.
Lueder has a whole line of sock patterns inspired by Harry Potter and I think I’m going to have to work my way through them all, you might remember that I already made the Hermione and Neville socks a while back.
Lionheart, Part 2
I finished my Lionheart socks and I could not be more pleased. I’ve been rereading the Harry Potter series this summer in anticipation of the new book coming out in July (among other reasons- hint, hint). So I plan on making many more of Erica Lueder’s Harry Potter themed socks in the near future.

Neville Longbottom Socks
This particular pair was made using Lueder’s Neville’s Socks pattern and Knit Picks Stroll Sock yarn – it’s been a while since I used a solid sock yarn and I really like how it lets the sock pattern shine.
Lionheart, Part 1
I really enjoyed the last Erica Lueder sock pattern I made so I decided that my next pair of socks would be Neville’s Socks. It’s a subtle stitch pattern that’s easily memorized so these are just flying off my needles.

Gryffindor Red
At first I thought I would make them in green as a nod to Neville’s love of herbology, but the more I thought about it the more I realized how much Neville truly embodied Gryffindor’s core values – so red it was! The yarn is Stroll in Firecracker Heather.
Made It!
I made it to the end of my Hermione’s Everyday Socks and I didn’t run out of yarn, although once again I really felt like I was cutting it close.
Hermione’s Everyday Socks
It’s been over a year since I’ve knit myself a pair of socks (that last pair is preparing to be frogged, so they don’t count), so I headed into my stash and pulled out some Patons Socks Kroy FX in the Cameo colourway. I’ve had Erica Lueder’s Hermione’s Everyday Socks in my queue for quite some time – she’s got great sock patterns inspired by all sorts of Harry Potter characters and places and there are about half a dozen or so in my queue.
These are a really easy knit so they’re moving a long quickly. Now that I look at it, the colours really remind me of my Sid Cowl from earlier in the year.
