Unfortunately my Angry Dwarf roving ended up taking a back seat to some other projects, but it’s all done now so all is well.
I didn’t get as much spinning done this weekend as I had anticipated, only half of the Angry Dwarf roving is done.
The colour is spinning up quite nicely and I think it will look lovely plied. But that’s going to have to wait for a little bit, November is a third over and I haven’t even started this month’s Story Time Sampler frame!
It’s been far too long since I last seen any time with my spinning wheel so I pulled out this braid of 100% Bluefaced Leicester from my FatCatKnits.
Aren’t the colours glorious? I like pop of teal mixed in amongst the typical ‘fall’ red and orange. And I’m quite partial to the colour name, ‘Angry Dwarf’ – seriously, how do people come up with these titles?
I’ve got a new spinning project in the works. I’ve been thinking about a nice shawl to wear on cool summer evenings and I decided I’d spin the yarn myself. Now, I don’t have enough of any one colour for a decent sized shawl so I’m going to have to combine a few colours of Knit Picks Roving, but I think it might actually be more fun this way.
The Malabrigo Nube is done and I hated every minute of it. But the colours are nice, and I can see myself using the finished yarn (about 135 m of 3-ply, in case you were wondering), so wasn’t a total waste of time.
